A Surprise Proposal at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens
There are few moments more exciting to capture than a surprise proposal, and Paul and Taylor’s session at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens was one of my favorites yet.
When Paul first reached out, he was full of excitement (and a few nerves) as he shared his plans to surprise Taylor with a beautiful proposal. We hopped on a call to discuss ideas and locations, and ultimately decided on a quiet morning in the rose garden, the perfect setting for this special moment.
On the day of the proposal, I arrived early to scout the location and blend into the gardens before Paul and Taylor arrived. While waiting, I captured some of the stunning details of the gardens, including a sweet little green lizard resting on purple leaves (a detail Taylor later loved in the gallery!).
As the couple walked toward the rose garden, I discreetly photographed their steps until Paul got down on one knee in the center of the garden. Taylor’s reaction was priceless, she was completely surprised, and the joy between them was contagious.
After the proposal, Paul’s collection included an hour of couples portraits, so we spent the morning exploring the gardens together with their two dogs. One pup loved the water so much that he ended up jumping into one of the ponds, and I couldn’t stop laughing as I captured their reactions! Those candid moments mixed with the romance of the gardens made for the perfect balance in their gallery.
I also made sure to capture some special detail shots of Taylor’s gorgeous new ring surrounded by the flowers of the gardens.
Normally, I deliver sneak peeks within 48 hours, but I felt so inspired by this session that I delivered their fully edited gallery within 24 hours! Their reactions made my heart so happy:
