ROMANCE IN AUSTIN TEXAS
Every engagement session tells a unique love story, and Crystal and Pete’s session at Bushy Creek Park in Austin, Texas was nothing short of dreamy. As an Austin engagement photographer, my goal is always to create an experience that feels personal and true to each couple. For Crystal and Pete, that meant blending romance, playfulness, and the natural beauty of a Texas summer evening.
Personalizing the Engagement Session
To make sure every session reflects my couples, I send an engagement session planning questionnaire before we shoot. This helps me learn more about their personalities, relationship, and photography goals. Crystal and Pete envisioned something lighthearted yet romantic, so I curated inspiration and location ideas to match their vision.
Choosing Bushy Creek Park in Austin
After reviewing a handful of location options, Crystal and Pete chose Bushy Creek Park, which was a perfect fit with its wide-open grassy fields and blooming wildflowers. The early summer setting gave us the most beautiful textures and colors, creating a dreamy backdrop for their engagement photos in Austin.
Adding Personal Details
One of my favorite parts of their session was how they incorporated personal touches. They brought along a picnic blanket and their favorite board games, including Scrabble. During the session, they spelled out their names and wedding date on the board, a sweet and creative detail that made their photos even more meaningful.
Golden-Hour Romance
We began their session about an hour before sunset, which gave us glowing golden light throughout the park. I guided them with natural posing while encouraging plenty of candid moments. The result was romantic, true-to-life engagement photos that captured their connection perfectly.
Looking Forward to Their Wedding
This session reminded me why I love customizing every engagement shoot. By weaving in personal details, choosing a location that spoke to them, and letting their personalities shine, Crystal and Pete’s photos became a reflection of who they are as a couple.
